Situated at the end of a quiet and peaceful cul-de-sac, Tara House is a modern detached family home, offering a choice of comfortable accommodation. 1 family room (ensuite) - 1 double room (ensuite) and 1 single room (standard). All rooms are available for booking all-year-round, except Christmas.
Mullingar is a market town with a rich heritage dating back to Norman times. The imposing 140 feet high twin spires of the renaissance style Cathedral dominate the townscape. The Ecclesiastical museum has an interesting collection dating back to Penal times, during which the catholic religion was suppressed.
The county of Westmeath contains delightful scenery including lakes with wooded shores and rolling hills that provide charming views. Ancient historical legends include Lough Derravaragh, situated to the north of the county and is famous as the first of the three lakes on which the legendary children of Lir spent 300 years. Lakes within easy reach of Mullingar include Lough Ennell, Lough Sheelin, Lough Owl (All have boat hire available) and Lough Sheever. The Royal Canal is also close by. All offer good coarse fishing, pike and trout. (Fishing tackle and bait shop in the town centre)
